Winning the 2022 EDA award for ‘Diversity team of the year’ was such a pleasant surprise for us, we are a small team and to win such a prestigious award for our work meant everything. When we shared the news with the business, the feedback we received showed us that all the work we have been doing is being seen and recognised not only externally but internally by colleagues. Winning this award has pushed and motivated us to stay consistent with what we’re doing in the ED&I space and to always share innovating ideas to help the business become an even more inclusive place to work.
CHARITY OF THE YEAR
Anna Kennedy Online
Firstly, the effect amongst our volunteers on hearing Anna Kennedy Online won such an award was energizing. It really gave a boost to the morale of everyone who works so hard throughout the year - all of them unpaid. Being presented with a cheque for £5000 gave us funds to expand our work; we used a substantial amount to host the "Autism Expo", educating those living with autism but, just as important , bringing awareness to the public about autism. In addition, we were able to use the rest on our many events and helpline, thanks to the prize money. We had hoped to be introduced to the sponsor of our category but sadly this did not happen. However, breakfast with the lovely Linda Riley was great. She hopes to help us a little more and is an inspiration, so getting to meet her through EDA was sublime .
INSPIRATIONAL ROLE MODEL OF THE YEAR

Winning the 'Inspirational Role Model of the Year' at the 2022 European Diversity Awards has profoundly shaped my journey in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The honour not only underscored the importance of the work we do but also ignited a renewed vigour in me. It stands as a testament that change is possible, and that every effort, no matter how small, contributes to the larger narrative of equality and acceptance. I am inspired daily by the countless individuals who share this path, and this accolade serves as a beacon, reminding me that together, we can foster a world that truly celebrates and embraces its diverse tapestry.

Winning the Diversity in Technology Initiative of the Year award at the 2022 European Diversity Awards was a major achievement, and another significant milestone in our DEI journey. The award confirms that we’re on the right track, but is also reminder that there’s more to be done. This recognition will serve as motivation to double down on our efforts and take our performance to the next level. The awards ceremony itself was an incredible networking opportunity and enabled finalists to share best practices and help each other to become stronger and even more innovative in our collective approaches.
